In the fall of 2020 an Environmental Justice Task Force (EJTF) was established to lead and coordinate various activities aimed at reducing the impact of the Fellowship and its members on the environment, with particular emphasis on reducing our carbon footprint. The task force is working in three areas: 1) conducting an energy audit of the building that will influence future renovations and retrofits to the building 2) advocacy work on key issues in conjunction with community leaders and collectives such as the Nanaimo Climate Action Hub, and 3) creating Personal Climate Action Plans through which members and friends are provided opportunities to learn about, measure, and take practical steps to reduce their personal and household impact on the environment.
