Mark was raised in central Alberta by a loving/caring Christian family who adopted him at 4 months old. He is a member of the Blackfoot Nation, Blood Reserve near Calgary, Alberta, and a 60 Scoop Survivor.
Mark has worked from one end of Vancouver Island to the other, helping with programs to support individuals who are homeless or facing the possibility of being homeless.
He has also worked with Island Health in multiple programs like Early Psychosis Intervention, individuals who are dually diagnosed both in residential and outreach services. These programs supported individuals like himself before he found it was possible to live a productive life helping others through similar situations. Mark began as the coordinator for the Unitarian Shelter in September.
