Social Justice
Our 6th principle has a goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. We try to put this goal into practice in our worship, in our learning and in our lives.
The Nanaimo Unitarian Shelter is our flagship social justice work in the community. However we also offer educational programs on other social justice themes. For example we recently held a workshop called Building a Village to explore racial justice in society. We will continue to explore related learning opportunities on topics such as White Supremacy, Black Lives Matter, Bystander Training, and Becoming a White Ally. We also may hold facilitated discussion on Truth, Healing and Reconciliation.
Details on specific programs and discussions will be posted to the website as they become available.
