The Church of Our Imagination

Canadian Unitary Council National Worship Service

Eleven years ago at a CUC National event, a group of Canadian young adults wrote a poem,“The Church of Our Imagination,” which captured the attention of everyone present.

Today we are revisiting it, and them, as we imagine our way(s) forward.

What is The Church of Our Imagination? And is this even the right question for today?

As an associate Minister of the Foothills Unitarian Church in Fort Collins, Colorado, he dreams of a time when progressive people of faith are as equipped to impact society as our conservative siblings. That together we can proclaim and live our core conviction: that all are worthy of love and belonging, and that we are all in this together.

Sean was born on Treaty 7 land in Calgary, AB, and comes to Foothills after four years in New England, where he completed seminary at Harvard Divinity School, studying alongside future imams, rabbis, justice activists and other Unitarian Universalists. Outside of ministry he enjoys hiking, or cooking up a storm with his partner Charles and their dog Dollie. sean@foothillsuu.org
