Water is the theme for the morning as we flow back together. While we may each be just a drop in the bucket, we come together to create our oasis of hope and challenge recognizing that each of our lives and our actions ripple out and have and affect the common good.

There will be a ritual of pouring water into a communal bowl, bring your own or some will be provided.

The Flower Ceremony, sometimes referred to as Flower Communion is an annual ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community.

Originally created in 1923 by Unitarian minister Norbert Capek of Prague, Czechoslovakia, the Flower Ceremony was introduced to the United States by Rev. Maya Capek, Norbert’s widow.

In this ceremony, everyone in the congregation brings a flower which they place in a shared vase. Each person takes home a different flower than the one they brought.
We would like to encourage everyone to bring flowers that are sustainable and ethical, for example, wild flowers, homegrown or locally grown flowers and the like. 

We are on summer break after this service, and will reunite for the Ingathering Water Service on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
